    Термин теории и практики оценки бизнеса: процесс проведения расчетов (estimation, measurement) для определения стоимости различных экономических объектов. О. проводится в соответствии с национальными и международными стандартами оценки с использованием научно обоснованных подходов и методов. В зависимости от характера и назначения бизнеса могут применяться три подхода к оценке стоимости бизнеса: доходный подход (подход на основе капитализации дохода), рыночный подход (подход на основе сравнения продаж), затратный подход (подход на основе активов). Их применение позволяет оценщику определять рыночную стоимость или стоимость, отличную от рыночной стоимости. Результаты О. представляются в отчете установленной формы.О. — действие, которое относится к любому из перечисленных ниже видов действий: определение затрат на производство новой собственности (здесь слово «производство» означает создание совокупности элементов, изготовления, сооружения, естественного роста живых объектов); воспроизводство существующей собственности путем приобретения или производства эквивалентной собственности; воспроизводство существующей собственности путем приобретения или производства идентичной собственности;определение неденежных выгод или характеристик, способных пополнить стоимость; вынесение суждений относительно возраста, срока предстоящей жизни, условий, качества или аутентичности материальной собственности; прогнозирование того, какой доход может доставлять собственность; привлекательность; оценка запасов природных ресурсов, роста населения, природы рынка, уровня вовлечения; определение вида бизнеса; активы, обязательства и стоимость акционерного капитала относятся к бизнесу, представляющему собой фирму-производителя, холдинговую компанию или комбинацию тех и других(смешанный бизнес). Проведение оценки (оценивание) обязательно при возникновении споров о стоимости объекта оценки, в т. ч.: а) при национализации имущества; б) при ипотечном кредитовании физических лиц и юридических лиц в случаях возникновения споров о величине стоимости предмета ипотеки; в) при составлении брачных контрактов и разделе имущества разводящихся супругов по требованию одной из сторон или обеих сторон — в случае возникновения спора о стоимости этого имущества; г) при выкупе или ином предусмотренном законодательством Российской Федерацией изъятии имущества у собственников для государственных или муниципальных нужд и др.
